Rahu — The Shadow of Desire

Rahu is not a physical planet — he is a Chhaya Graha (shadow planet), representing the North Node of the Moon. In Vedic mythology, Rahu is the severed head of the Asura Svarbhanu, who disguised himself as a Deva to drink the nectar of immortality. Lord Vishnu beheaded him with the Sudarshana Chakra, but since the nectar had already touched his lips, both parts became immortal — the head becoming Rahu and the body becoming Ketu.

Rahu represents insatiable desire, worldly ambition, illusion, foreign lands, unconventional paths, and the obsessive pursuit of what you don’t yet have. He is the ultimate amplifier — he magnifies whatever sign, planet, or house he touches, often to an extreme degree.
