Ketu — The Liberator

Ketu is the headless body of the severed Asura — the South Node of the Moon. While Rahu represents what you obsessively desire, Ketu represents what you have already mastered in past lives and are now ready to release. He is the planet of detachment, spiritual liberation (moksha), mysticism, psychic abilities, and the dissolution of ego.

Ketu’s influence is deeply spiritual but often uncomfortable. He strips away the things you cling to — relationships, possessions, identities, worldly ambitions — so that you can discover what lies beneath all of that: your true, unchanging Self.

Significations of Ketu

  • Moksha & Liberation: Spiritual enlightenment, renunciation, and transcendence
  • Past-Life Karma: Skills, talents, and unresolved patterns carried from previous incarnations
  • Detachment: Loss of interest in material pursuits, emotional numbness, and isolation
  • Mysticism & Occult: Psychic abilities, astrology, tantra, and hidden knowledge
  • Sudden Events: Accidents, unexpected losses, and abrupt endings

Ketu’s Gemstone & Remedies

The gemstone is Cat’s Eye (Lahsuniya), worn in gold on the middle finger on a Thursday or Saturday. Worship Lord Ganesha, donate multi-colored blankets, feed stray dogs, and practice meditation and mantra chanting to harmonize Ketu’s energy.
