Shukra Deva, the deity of Venus, is the guru of the Asuras and the lord of all things beautiful, refined, and pleasurable. While Brihaspati teaches the path of renunciation, Shukra teaches the path of refined enjoyment. He is the master of the 64 arts, including music, dance, and poetry. Shukra represents the attraction between souls and the harmony of the universe.

Shukra is the only deity who possesses the “Mrita Sanjivani Vidya”—the knowledge to bring the dead back to life. This symbolizes His power to rejuvenate our energy and bring life back to stagnant situations. He is depicted as a fair, handsome figure riding a white horse or a camel, holding a stick, a lotus, and a bow.
